Communists from around the Eastern District, from Wyndonham to Westcliffe On Sea, Southend and Leigh-on-Sea, Basildon, Chelmsford, Colchester, Diss, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Norwich, Cambridge, and Kings Lynn, are meeting for a day of discussion and organising on 15 January to plan the fightback.

Early sessions will focus on: establishing new branches; organising rural and women workers; developing Marxist education in the CP and campaigning "for work, services and sovereignty". In the afternoon, local campaigners and the Labour, Green and Coop parties have agreed to take part in a discussion on opposing cuts and the Peoples' Charter.
