The London District Committee of the Communist Party is calling on its members in London to register for an aggregate on 12 February. The meeting  will focus on organising work, including campaigning for the maximum turnout on the anti-cuts demo on 26th March.

District Secretary Steve Johnson says, ‘At a time when the working class is under the most vicious attacks for 30 years the Communist Party needs an army of Joe Hills to organise the resistance.  Our meeting on 12thFebruary will play a critical role in setting our campaigning priorities and work programme for the next 6 months, including a structured approach to building for 26th March.  This will help us to co-ordinate a Communist intervention in the many anti-cuts campaigns taking place across the Capital. '

Special consideration will be given to our recruitment and education work.

The morning session will be for London CP members who will be joined in the afternoon by invited guests, including comrades from the domiciled Bangladeshi, Indian and Cypriot communist parties.

The afternoon session will look at the role of trades union councils in building mass campaigns against cuts in public services and learning the lessons of Wapping 25 years on.  Our sister parties will be vital in mobilising resistance among BME communities who will be among the hardest hit by the Con-dems attacks on welfare benefits and affordable housing.

We need as many comrades as possible to attend and contribute to this ground-breaking event.
