1. Welsh Communists Industrial Aggregate 

Welsh Communists have called an industrial aggregate for trade union Party members and supporters  on Monday 17th March at 7 pm in the Cayo Arms (upstairs room), Cathedral Road, Cardiff.
The meeting will discuss the Party’s intervention at this year’s Wales TUC conference (20 – 22 May); developing & building the role of Trades Councils including organising for the Trades Council conference in Cardiff (13-15 June); and building the support in trade unions for local Peoples Assemblies.

2. Welsh Communist Party Executive Committee meeting

The next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Welsh Communist Party will take place on Saturday 22 March in the Cayo Arms (upstairs room), Cathedral Road, Cardiff at 2 pm – immediately following the Anti Racism/Anti Fascism demo detailed below.
 

3. Cardiff Anti Racism Anti Fascism March & Rally

The Welsh Communist Party is supporting the UAF organised march and rally marking the UN Anti Racism Day.  The demo will be assembling in Clare Gardens, Riverside, Cardiff  for a march to a rally at City Hall.

4. 53rd All Britain Communist Party Congress

The 53rd Congress will be held at Ruskin House, Croydon, London on the weekend of November 15-16.  As always Party branches will receive multiple communiqués, reminders and mailings in the months up to Congress but dates to note are:
5th May – Deadline for amendments to Party rule
16th June – EC draft resolution published
2nd October – Deadline for amendments, resolutions, nominations and delegate registration. 


5.  Opposition to NATO conference grows

The Welsh Communist Party is part of a growing of Welsh anti-cuts, anti-war and trade union activists who have come together to organise a counter demonstrations, a counter summit, peace camp and other events to mark the NATO Summit being held in Newport in August.

6.  NO2EU to contest Welsh Euro election seats

The NO2EU campaign will be contesting this year’s Euro elections in Wales.   No2EU is a trade union-backed campaign that believes the time is right to offer the peoples of Britain an alternative view of Europe.  Check out http://no2eu.com/ for full details of the campaign.  The following candidates for the Welsh seats have been selected: Rob Griffiths; Clare Job; Lorrette Picand and Steve Skelly.  The Welsh election campaign will be launched in April – full details to follow. 



7. The Miners’ Strike 30 years on

The Miners’ Strike 1984-5 What Lessons for Contemporary protest?  This major event to discuss the legacy of this strike is being held at 6 pm on Wednesday 26 March at the  Social Sciences Glamorgan Building, Cardiff University.  All Welcome!
