Communist Party candidate Gerry Sables won 8 per cent of the vote in a three-way contest for a seat on Barnstaple Town Council on Thursday. He had collected signatures to force a by-election in the Yeo ward, against the wishes of the Tory and Labour parties.

Marxism - an introduction
